27th day

Friday! Shopping day! Today we went to Arhus and visited the famous art museum there. It was awesome! We got to see their main exhibit "I love you" That was interesting and then me and Claude went around for about 3 hours looking at the rest of the museum. The bottom floor was really cool it had exhibits having to do with the senses. It also included my favorite part of the museum a room that went through the day in 8 minutes it was really cool it had temperature and everything :). And there was an exhibit on every floor and there were like 8 floors so there were a lot of exhibits but my favorites were the one downstairs the one with Alice in wonderland themed pictures and the one with all the old art :) Then we had about 2 hours left for shopping I got a blue scarf Claude got a hat and we ran into some other exchange students and hung out with them for a bit. Then we went back had dinner and then there were several different activitys that we could do and I chose to do Croquet/golf (I can't remember it's Danish name) I was in the same group as Neha and we had a lot of fun and then she made me play volleyball with her and some other exchange students even though it was really cold. Then me and Claude watched Anime and went to bed :)

28th day

This was our last full day of intro camp everyone was sad we had had a great time getting to know everyone. We had our last Danish lessons in the morning and then we just talked about how the week had gone and hung out after lunch. And there was much taking of pictures. That night we had a big dinner with 3 courses and we also had each class preforme something, some pople did skits and other sang songs, the teachers even preformed some songs, they are all pretty musically gifted. And then we had a big dance party until 1:00 but I was lame and went to bed a 12:00 :)

26th day

Thursday. This day was lots of fun! We had Danish lessons like all day witch wasn't so fun, except our teacher plays Danish songs for us and then translates them witch is cool. But anyway, the really fun thing was the bonfire! It was fun everyone was just hanging out and the South Americans were singing and dancing and trying to teach everyone else how to do there dance only it was impossible. And then we roasted bread! That's the difference between Danish people and American people, we roast sugar they roast bread :)

25th day

Wednesday. Today we went to a town called Aros after Danish lessons and lunch. We were going to tour an old church but it was closed because they were tuning the organ. It turns out that was a good thing because we hardly had any time at all, or that's how it seemed. I went around with Claude and it was fun because when I said "ummm, there's a bakery do you want to go in?" she said "of course!" So we got pastry's at the bakery, I got some kind of jacket thingy at a shop and then we got ice-cream! I LOVE Danish ice-cream! And then all to soon it was time to go. We went to a lake and had muffins and coffie (I had water, yum) I swear these people are trying to fatten us up. Then we had dinner, and after that we had surprise entertainment! The surprise entertainment started out with them taking us to the gym and teaching us how to slap dance! I was pretty excited about that but I don't think anyone else was. Then they taught us some fun dances, and then they taught us how to be a good audience, and everyone was like "what is this?" and "this is lame I'm going to do my own thing!" and left. And well the egg was on their face because then the Striving Vines a Danish band that is on the radio came! It was so supper cool! They were really good and I'm going to try to get a CD to send home maybe. :)

24th day

On Tuesday we got up and had danish lessons in the morning and after lunch we did something called the teenager in Denmark workshop. Mostly what it was was getting together with our class and talking about how teenagers in Denmark lived, and since our teacher is awesome we sat on the floor on blankets and ate candy, including Fludeboders, chocolate filled with marsh mellow stuff that's fun to say. The whole thing was very Hugalet, or cozy. Then we had a very good dinner and for the activity that night we watched a Danish movie, it was very weird and had no plot but it was fun watching it with everyone, all the people from different country's reacted differently to different stuff :)

23rd day

Today I got up had breakfast and then we had Danish lessons all day. After dinner though we had activity's we could do several and I chose the sit around and talk about stuff one. It was really fun we talked about stuff and had cake. After the activity's the Brazilians threw a dance party in the gym, it was fun :)

22nd day

first day of Intro camp! We got up and went to the train station where we had breakfast and then all the other exchange students started showing up, then we went to the train I sat next to a girl from Florida named Claud and a girl from Japan called Wendy. As we went we kept on picking up more and more exchange students soon the train was full of them. There was a whole compartment full of south Americans that was a party, they all had musical instruments and were singing. There was much pin trading and a girl named Neha from India came and sat next to us. Then we got on a bus to the school where we would be staying I sat next to Claud and there was a girl from Texas sitting behind us. When we got to the school we got our rooms. I was in one of the bigger rooms at the end with a small TV and 3 channels in it not that I watched any. My roommate was a nice girl from Canada. Then we had dinner and dessert witch was icecream with fruit on it yum! Then we were split into our classes I got a class with a really cool girl. And then we just hung out and went to bed :)

21st day

This day I began the long and not so perilous journey to intro camp. I got up and got on the ferry by myself for the first time, it wouldn't have been so bad except I had never used the person without a vehicle entrance before, it was confusing. Then I tried to find Katy on the ferry but I couldn't so I just bought some candy and sat in the middle hoping she would walk by. At the end of the ride we meet and and made our way to the hotel where we would be spending the night. After the long buss ride of course. Then we got lunch at a place that had deep pan pizza. Then we still had all day to burn so we walked downtown, right into a gay pride festival. It was interesting. Then we went to a Wriplys Believe it or Not/Hans Christian Anderson museum. I took a lot of pictures of all the cool stuff. Then we went and saw a movie called Letters from Juliet, and then we had dinner at McDonald's it was great! Then we went back to the hotel and hung out until bed time.

20th day

Today we came back to town we got up had breakfast did some math (eww) and then started on our way back home. I didn't have a water bottle it was all uphill and my gears weren't working, yeah it sucked, after lunch we all split up and I went home with a nice girl who shared some German candy with me, it was good like lemon drops only in all different flavors. When I got home I had a nice shower and then my host parents went out for dinner so I had the house to myself. I watched Freaky Friday and then went to bed.

19th day

Thursday, I definitely remember what happened on this day. This was the day we went for our class trip to get to know each other, I know awesome right? We have a 2 day field trip where we get out of school just to get to know our classmates better! Unfortunately all that great trip planning was done in Danish so I have no idea what was going on. All I knew was that we were leaving on this day we were going to stay the night is someones barn and to bring a sleeping bag. So in the morning I woke up half an hour late because for some reason my alarm on my phone didn't work, great time to do it to. So very quickly I showered and ate and did all that other morning nonsense. Then my host mom dropped me off at the school late for her job but 15 minutes early for my school. We went to our first two classes and then there was an assembly and I just followed the people from my class around because I had no idea what was going on. Then we got ready, before we had eaten lunch I might add (and it was like 12:00!), to leave and everyone was on bikes. I didn't know we needed bikes! I'd had my host mom drive me to school and made her late because I thought "I can't lug all this on a bike" So I didn't even have a bike. Luckily the school had bikes and I got a mountain bike. Hooray something I'm used to instead of those crappy little city bikes with their skinny little wheals and no shocks. At least that's what I thought until I figured out that the gears on this bike weren't working. I would come to a hill and gear down but nothing would happen, and finally when I reached the top, exhausted, the gears would change and I'd be peddling like a maniac but going nowhere, until we reached the next hill where it would promptly go back to the higher gear. Its like the bike was trying to kill me! Luckily the way there was fairly easy with mostly downhills and flats, and everything was going OK until... Sorry about that had to go to lunch. Until the people that I had been biking with and I fell behind and got lost. We just went whichever way we thought was right, knowing we were lost but not wanting to admit it until we finally admitted to ourselves that we were lost and called one of the teachers in charge of the thing. Getting lost on a bike ride in another country really isn't that bad, for several reasons. First I was lost with two other people, a really nice girl that likes Anime (yeah) that has BEAUTIFUL long white/blond hair, and a nice nerdy boy. Second you don't have to try to keep up with the others, you just go along at your own pace. Thirdly I had food. And lastly its an island people! You can't get that lost. So the teacher told us where we were and we were able to catch up with the other group. So we were staying in the English teachers barn witch was actually really nice. The barns here are more like buildings without walls on the inside so it was really nice. His barn wasn't being used he just lived in an old farm building so he had made the barn into what they called a ball room, but is just for having party's not actually dancing. Then we did a lot of get to know you and team building games, all of witch were in Danish. When it was time for dinner we were all put into groups in charge of a different part of dinner I was in charge of preparing the chicken, I seasoned it and I think I put a lot more seasoning on than these people are used to :). And then the boys in charge of grilling the chicken burned it all. Luckily we also had salad and pasta. Then we did more get to know each other activity's and I roasted some marsh mellows and made smores some of the kids thought it was gross others thought it was really good. And then we just hung out and went to bed.

18th day

Wendsday, wow I am so behind sorry guys, you will understand why when I get around to posting the other days. But on this day, school and then I had my first rotary dinner, for some reason I feal like I have already written about this... But we had really salty soup that was gross, and then burnt meat and suspicious sausages, and bread of course and also potatoes. And then for desert we had cheese and crackers, for desert! Those crazy Danes :) Then I introduced myself and there was a lot of hand shaking, then a lady who came from Bornholm and was attending a fancy music collage in London told us about her violin training but it was all in Danish but she did direct me to a person who teaches classical music and might be able to get me a french horn. :) And then a lady gave a presentation on recycling and it might have been one of the most boring things in my life. And now its like 11:00 so I'm going to bed :)

As I'm looking over this again I realize that this wasn't the night I had the rotary dinner, that was like days before this and I am so lost and have absolutely no recollection of anything happening on Wednesday, sorry

Picture post!

so... In order from left to right top to bottom. One of the harbors where you can get ice cream :). My house at sunset. Johns farm, this is inside the square of farm buildings including the house. The fountain in town square of Ronne, near the school so I could go eat there if I ever got up the courage to buy something in Danish, and those things spraying water are snails :). Someones window, they have all sorts of cool old things just on peoples houses. A quarry for granite that is near Johns farm. My room :). The beach on a nice day. A giant spider we found in the living room. And last but not least the city of Copenhagen as seen from the bridge. :)

17th day

Tuesday, (I'm saying all the days because it helps me remember, what happened on my 17th day? Idk, oh you mean Tuesday? Well...) I got a ride to school because it was raining cats and dogs but that also means I had to walk home and it was a long hot walk. And then Jeppe had a party a lot of his friends came over and we had a barbecue, and the great thing about Danish party is they start at like 4 or 5, not at like 7 or 8 like we do, and then go to like 12 or 1. Danes know how to party hearty :) and for a really long time. So that was fun and then I went to bed at like 10 because I had school the next day.

16th day

Monday, boring Monday. I went to school and got my first homework assignment, I have to reed something in english, Oh No! Lol. And I went to a rotary dinner with John. The food was gross I couldn't understand anyone and they had cheese and crackers for desert, those crazy Danes :) But on the plus side one of the people giving a presentation that night was a musician who used to live here and she thinks she might know about getting me a french horn yeah! :) Well, yeah, that's pretty much it.

15th day

Sunday, Unfortunately I was unable to go to church and I have just found out that I have stuff on the next two Sundays to. So frustrating! We went to my family's summer house that then rent to tourists and worked on it. It is a really nice house, it has more and bigger bedrooms, a really nice bathroom and a sauna, and I was like why do you live in the small house when you could live in the big house, and then I realized that it was because the small house is a 3 minute walk from the beach. After that we went to an old smokery where they still smoke fish and bought some fish for dinner. Then I made some lemon squares mostly by feel because all there measuring instruments are of course in the metric system. They actualy turned out pretty good except for the brown sugar here is way stronger and the altitude is way lower, so all my measurements were good. :) Then I got a really bad headache, surprisingly my first sense I got here, and lay in my bed untill dinner. I had some kind of medicine before dinner and we had the smoked fish unfortunately my headache was so bad that I didn't really enjoy the fish or eat most of it. After dinner I lay down and after like an hour my headache went away! They must have good headache medicine in Denmark, so then I was able to have some of the lemon squares I had made. Unfortunately that made it look like I had faked sick so I wouldn't have to eat the fish and then miraculously got better in time for my desert... Oh well. And then me and Jeppe had been talking about Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and he found this thing online and now I have Legend of Zelda on my laptop! Woho!

14th day

Saturday! And what an awesome Saturday it was :). First I slept in and then we all had breakfast together (in Denmark if everyone is around for a meal and they don't have to be anywhere they always eat together). And then I was terrible and showed Jeppe the last 2 episodes of Avatar, none of the others just the last 2 so he could see the awesome Agni ki. Well at least I know he's not a Zutara fan, when Katara stepped out and Azula gave her the evil eye he said "She's stupid, dump her!" hahaha I am still laughing. Then we went to the art museum on Bornholm, all the newer paintings were mostly abstract or badly draw pictures of naked women, but the old pictures were really cool. They were all very well done and had interesting things in them, like the castle, royalty that had lived at the castle, and important events, those were some of my favorites so many people in one painting all doing their own thing and drawn masterfully. :) Then we went for a walk behind the art museum. There are cliffs and really cool rock formations (I would have taken lots of awesome pictures but my camera doesn't want to charge), but what me and Jeppe didn't know about was the cave! It is awesome, to get there you have to go down an old rusted ladder into this kind of hole in the rocks, but there is still tide coming in and sense it was a stormy day the water was pretty rough, and then you walk into this crack in the cliff and it just keeps on going and going and going. We didn't go all the way because we didn't have flashlights and it was pitch black, but legend has it that it goes all the way to the old castle. Its so cool! The area around it is also very nice, kind of like a tropical rain forest only colder but we did so much hiking around that I got hot anyway. But it is totally beautiful and cool and they should totally do a Pirates of the Caribbean movie there. Then we went home and did normal stuff :)

13th day

Aaaa, friday :). Not that school was hard or anything, It was innitiation day and sense I'm with the freshman class I got to get innitiated, again. It wasn't that bad actualy all we did was learn some folk dances, that was really cool, they even had a pionere style dance (but they were all doing it wrong), and then we cose ower favorite dance and we preformed it in front of the rest of the school along with the song we learned yesterday. So pretty much the whole day I danced and sang :). Then I came home, Jeppes grandfather and his neibors (I spelt that wrong didn't I?) came over and we had this really good desert thing, I think the people here in Denmark have the meaning of 'cake' wrong, several times they have said somthing like, "We'll have cake later" and I'm like "yhea! Cake!" then its not a cake, it's like pie or something, I think they think cake means 'large desert', but I'm getting way of subject. It was like a giant shugar cookie with whipcream and blue berrys on it, it was good. And then we had a barbeque, with steak and some bread thingys (no not the ones from Bone) but they were good. And then later that night we watched V for Vendeta, because its one of Jeppes favorite movies and he's like me "Have you ever seen (insert awesome movie of your choice here)?" "No? Then we must watch it!" (poduces movie magicaly out of thin air), so yhea we watched it and it was awesome and deffenitly very interesting. So I can tell already that I made manny spelling mistakes, probly alot in that last sentece to, Sorry :P

12th day

Ummm, Ok what day was this? Oh thats right 3rd day of school, thursday. Well I had music class and that was awesom the music teachers are really cool and were able to get everyone singing their hearts out by the end of the class, and instead of singing boring clasical music we sang pop! It was in Danish so I have no idea what we were saying but it was still cool. But for every awesome thing thier must be an unawesome thing, and that thing was gym class and sense I can't read Danish I didn't know that we were supposed to bring gym clothes so I got all hot and sweaty, but on the bright side gym is also way cooler here. So what did we do you ask? Did we do push ups or run the mile? Or maby play some sport that I am emberisingly bad at? No! We ran down to the beach and hung out! woho! And on my way home I was really tempted to buy some ice cream (There are alot of places to buy ice cream around here for the tourest) but I still can't say anything in Danish so I was afraid to go and buy ice cream. When I got home it was really hot so we decided to go to the beach. And this time we actualy stayed at the beach! We went swimming, and then drank sodas and ate cookies, and then the ferry went by so their were awesome waves we could play in! And then that night for dinner we had fried fish, kinda like a giant fish stick :) It was a good day even though I compleatly forgot about it.

11th day

The second day of school. I had math, Danish, physics, and chemistry today, doesn't that sound fun? I have no idea why they thought I would do best in the science and math course, did I not say that I was bad at science and math? I guess they think I will do well in the math because I don't need to know Danish to do it. But on the bright side school is shorter here, they only have 4 classes a day with 15 minute breaks between the classes and I am taking them all at freshmen level so it should be pretty easy :). And everyone smokes here they can smoke at age 16 and from what I've heard the only anti smoking stuff to be found is the sign that says 'may cause health problems' that they have to have on the box, so all the stupid teenagers buy cigarettes and smoke during break time, you can't go outside without being enveloped in smoke yuck! But I found my way home where no one smokes yeah! And after that it was just another uneventful day. Except we did go swimming :)

10th day

This was my first day at school! I got up and had plenty of time to get ready, school doesn't start until 9:00! And Jeppe biked with me to school so I wouldn't get lost. Then their was a big assembly and I sat next to Katy the other exchange student, and we sang a song in English it was great! (They do a lot of singing here). Then we had class everyone is in a class (I'm in climate) and that class stays together all day! So we didn't even have to move all day except for lunch but a lot of people ate in the classroom anyway. They don't serve free lunch at the schools here, which I didn't know so I had no lunch but school only went to 2:00 anyway, and I had bread and nutella when I got home. :) I sat next to a guy named Mathias but they pronounce it Mat-ti-us which isn't nearly as cool as Ma-thi-us. Most of the teaches seemed nice even though I couldn't understand what any of them were saying. But the English teacher I liked him :). They have a block schedule here so I only met 3 of my teachers but I will meet some more tomorrow. I got home without getting lost surprisingly. And then later one of Jeppes friends came over she was really cool so we had popcorn, yeah popcorn! and chips, which I thought tasted better than American chips, and Sprite in a bottle! I have the bottle cap in my room right now. And we watched Toy Story 3 in English! It was great! :)

9th day

Wow I'm beginning to have a lot of days! Today was really fun. First Jeppe showed we how to get to the school on bike. The bike was to big for me and it was hard to get on and to stop so I almost ran into a bus. Then on our way back we discovered that some children had made a giant hop scotch outside on our street. This hop scotch is HUGE it is 300 scotches long! So Jeppe jumped the whole thing and then we played hopscotch (only till 10). It was awesome! One of the pictures is my host brother doing the pose he did in all his pictures while he was an exchange student in Kansas. All the yellow houses are the houses donated by Sweden when this area was bombed, and the green hill is actually a bomb shelter. After that I got ready for school because I had my first day of school the next day.
